OK, so I’m being pretty brave by coming out online as a Doctor Who fan like this, but the point of this blog is to be honest, so here it is. I do actually love Doctor Who.

I remember watching it when I was little at my Nan’s house and all of the stories and monsters seemed so vivid to me, I made a dalek out of rubbish which I was very proud of. I missed the best years, it was the 80s by the time I was growing up with it, but old repeats introduced me to the previous doctors and to this day my favourite is Patrick Troughton.

I’m really very pleased it’s mainstream viewing again, it means I don’t have to be quite so sheepish about watching it, although I must resist the temptation to buy pointless merchandise or dwell too long outside toy shop windows. The only thing I haven’t been so keen on from the new series is the logo and some of the design. They use a strange distressed typeface on all the tie-in stuff, kind of like Hector which seems a bit cheesy, and the new logo just reminds me of a taxi for hire. A shame when there was a rich logo heritage to use from the old series.
