TV Burp

Always genius, and could very well be the best thing on TV at the moment…

iDidn’t Look Both Ways…

iDead

Thought this ad from the New South Wales police was quite funny. I guess that’s not really the point though…

It’s still a more dignified death than being run over by a 1970′s family saloon…

The Snowman drinks Irn Bru

Here’s the Irn Bru Christmas advert, a Snowman pastiche and quite funny…

…personally I like the bit where he throws his nose away. (A carrot rather than an orange for contractual copyright reasons…)

The Microsoft iPod

I just had this video sent to me and it made me smile. It’s funny ’cause it’s true, but I think the music is definitely a contributing factor to the comedy.

For the sake of fairness, I thought I should point out that Microsoft DOES make an iPod, it’s called the Zune. Here’s what the two box designs look like next to each other…

iPod vs Zune

So, apart from the strange fascination with brown, it isn’t all that bad. Of course there may well be a PowerPoint-bulletpoint-lifestyle-fest going on on the reverse. It’s interesting that it isn’t as product-centric as the iPod packaging, although perhaps it’s to be expected, the Zune is hardly going to win in the product design stakes against the effortlessly iconic iPod.

One thing I have to admit that I like is the logo:

Zune Logo

Lovely.

Another hairy drummer

I’m pretty fed up of hearing how amazing the Cadbury’s Phil Collins advert is by now. In fact I was fed up of hearing about it even before I’d seen it properly and had a chance to make up my own mind. It IS great but enough already. Having said that, you’ve got to admit that the Wonderbra pastiche is pretty inspired. Calm down, it’s only a bit of fun…

Hamilton 109

OK, so Lewis Hamilton didn’t quite manage to become the F1 World Champion this year, to be honest, I couldn’t care less about the rugby or the football, I have as much interest in following them as a typical Eastenders storyline, but I do follow F1 and I really did want to see Lewis make it to the number 1 spot. I think everyone is kind of forgetting that he came 2nd in the championship in his first ever year, which is one hell of an achievement, and he pulled off some dazzling driving moves while doing it, his relentless progress back up the field this weekend being a prime example. Well done Lewis, you did us proud and we’ll be watching next year because we know you won’t be happy with 2nd for long…

Posting the great Vodafone ad which has been running all year here, and if you’re curious, as Ron Dennis would say, in the interests of fairness, you can see Fernando Alonso as well. After all, he’s a racing car driver now too you know…
